Lake Titicaca, the Birthplace of the Sun

On the border of Bolivia and Peru sits Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America and the highest navigable body of water in the world. Believed by the Incas to be the birthplace of the sun, today it’s known for its sunny days, chilly nights and floating islands. We snapped this shot while walking on a dock just before golden hour in Puno, a folkloric city that sits on the lake’s northwest shore.
